What does it actually mean to make fitness a lifestyle?
I think a lot of people hear that phrase without ever being shown what it really looks like.
Be consistent.
Stick with it.
Make it a lifestyle.
Okay, but how?
In this episode, I walk through four ideas that sit underneath the Your Level Fitness approach and help make long term consistency much more realistic.
The first is learning how to operate from a calm headspace and move at a deliberate pace.
That does not mean you are calm all the time.
Your brain is going to jump around.
You are going to have days when you do not feel focused.
You are going to get distracted.
You are going to feel overwhelmed.
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is knowing you can let your mind wander and then bring yourself back when you are ready.
The second piece is learning to love the body you have.
That starts with appreciating what you see in the mirror, but very quickly it becomes about appreciating who you see in the mirror.
That can help you untangle the relationship between eating, exercise, body image, self worth, and the way you approach your goals.
The third piece is choosing to trust yourself.
Life is going to throw obstacles at you.
Things are not always going to go according to plan.
But you have gotten through everything that has happened to this point.
Not perfectly.
Not always in the way you hoped.
But you figured something out.
You can continue doing that.
The fourth piece is consistency.
Not perfect consistency.
Not doing something 365 days a year.
Not trying to win every day.
I am much more interested in what you can do repeatedly over decades.
That is where a lifestyle actually gets built.
This episode also marks the return of this particular content after a long break, and while some parts of Your Level Fitness have evolved, the foundation has stayed the same.
You do not need another perfect plan.
You do not need another system that makes you feel like you are missing something.
You already have what you need to start figuring this out.
Trust yourself.
Trust your experience.
Slow the process down.
And build something you actually want to keep living.
