It's a myth that sleep is a waste of time. In fact our brains are super active when we're sleeping. Now researchers are looking into the hypnagogic state, a transitional state between wakefulness and sleep to see if we can influence our own dreams. During this state, our brains are still active. It's a unique state of consciousness where we can be aware of our thoughts and surroundings, but we are also open to suggestion.

Researchers are interested in the hypnagogic state because it may offer a way to influence our dreams. By focusing on certain thoughts or images before we fall asleep, we may be able to influence the content of our dreams. This could be a useful tool for problem-solving, creativity, or simply for having more enjoyable dreams.
