The Just Koz Show

How to Motivate Someone Besides Criticizing

Listen Later

Anybody have any guilty pleasures?  Koz does. One of them is a couple of podcasts that he listens to.  He was a guest caller, he randomly called him on his personal phone.  The podcast is "This past weekend." The host is open with his pornography addiction.  He takes calls from average guys and one guy called in and he and his wife made an agreement to both lose weight.  He lost the weight but his wife didn't.  Now he is not sexually attracted to his wife.  Now he looks at a lot of pornography.  He doesn't know what to do because he didn't want to bring it up to his wife.  He was sad because he isn't attracted to his wife and mad that she didn't lose the weight and he doesn't feel good about looking at pornography.

Koz called in to the show.  He was giving a lot of advice and was talking fast.  The host chose Koz as one of the feedback advice to give to the guy.  Think about her insecurities of being overweight.  Women's insecurities are way worse than men.  Koz's suggestion is that it is easier to give compliments for what they have done rather than criticizing them.

Koz had a friend who had a bad attitude with him.  He approached him and gave him a compliment and thanked him for being patient with him.

The Just Koz Show is hosted by David "Koz" Kozlowski, a former football player at the University of Utah. Now he talks to athletes, artists, and other community members about important mental health and social issues. You can find Koz on facebook at facebook.com/TheJustKozShow.
