Why do the majority of coaches never quit their 9-5 jobs, and miss on the biggest gains and benefits of being a coach? And how to overcome that and be the coach we always dreamt to be?
End of 2019, few months before the COVID pandemics starts, I was delivering a series of Leadership Coaching training in the middle-east,
during one of the events, one participant was really good, very active in her participation, adding lots of value to the session, to me and to the group,
the second day I had small chat with her during one of the breaks,
I discovered that almost same as what happened to me years before, this was not her first training, in fact, yes she was there to develop her leadership skills, but despite the fact that she is a certified coach since over 3 years, she was still doing mostly free sessions to friends and some very low fees hours to some referred clients.
When I asked her why she’s not practicing professionally, and building her coaching business, she literally answered me: I have a good government job right now with a decent salary, and I’m scared that if I quit and launch my coaching business, it will not reward me financially the way I’m making now!”
This is not a special case, or a special story, of a single separate coach, In fact,
I discovered through my journey of coaching, that the majority of coaches never leave their 9-5 jobs and one of the main reasons is their lack of confidence that they can convert the new coaching business into an official income generating source, similar or more valuable to their existing one.
This way unfortunately,
even after getting well trained as a coach,
they will gradually lose the passion of building the coaching skill,
and then get more and more less confident in building a coaching business and even in their capability to add value and deliver life changing coaching.
which is to put it in another word,, they will lose the Freedom, they were seeking from the beginning
Considering this I created a model, that is allowing coaches overcome this doubt, fear and lack of trust, and go through a safe bridge that will allow their pass from 9-5 employee job, to a the real freedom, to practice their coaching professionally, and work when they want, where they want and only with those who they want to work with and making more than what they were doing.
A kind of transition program, towards their dreams.
