I was a bit surprised recently that some people don't know how to organise events.  Having worked for a Royal Medical College and organised complex admission ceremonies, examinations and educational events as well as the Lights to Remember service for Marie Curie at Chester Cathedral, I thought I would give some advice to anyone who is organising an event for the fist time and how to market it to the right people.
