The average American should expect to live about 79 years, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

If you're lucky, you're going to spend about one-third of that time sleeping. With the remaining time you have, the idea should be to spend as many of them as possible doing what you want to do and as few as possible doing what you have to do.
