Being Brown at Work

How to Overcome Imposter Syndrome with Chloe Ford

Listen Later

Imposter syndrome is characterized as doubting one's own abilities and feeling like you're unworthy of your accomplishments.

It can stop us from applying for leadership positions, negotiating better pay or benefits, or advocating for ourselves at work at all. It can be debilitating both professionally and emotionally.

As Black and Brown women, race/gender intersectionality puts us in a more vulnerable position at work...which means that imposter syndrome tends to be more common among women of color.

So how can we overcome this phenomenon and achieve our full potential?

Joining me in this episode of Being Brown At Work is Chloe Ford, manager of global diversity programs and partnerships at Bain & Company.

Chloe, who is also one of my clients, shares how imposter syndrome impacted her personally and professionally... and how she managed to conquer it and achieve her goals.

Tune in for this fascinating story!
