Sometimes when you look at your calendar for the day, there are appointments on it that you just don’t want to go to.

 

Maybe it’s a meeting with someone that rubs you up the wrong way

Or it’s a long drive on a very hot day

Or you’re scared of what the topic of conversation will be.

 

As I set out on a day like this, I realized that I really wasn’t looking forward to the appointment I was going to. I could feel myself being grumpy about it and the more I let those thoughts swirl through my head, the more grumpy I got.

 

Until Jesus interrupted my thinking with a simple and profound question. “Lisa, do you remember that you’re the one bringing light to the situation - not the other way around?”

 

Wow!

 

My thinking took a 180 degree turn and I began to ask Him about what He wanted to bring to the appointment, instead of what I was dreading.

 

Well, the whole day shifted as I accepted His invitation to think about how Heaven could be brought into every place He and I got to go that day.
