How to Set Boundaries Without Feeling Guilty: A Guide for People Pleasers

Listen Later

For the longest time, I thought boundaries were cold. Harsh. Unkind. I thought setting a boundary meant putting up a wall between me and the people I loved.

But I was wrong.

In this deeply personal episode, I’m sharing stories about learning to set boundaries with love and why boundaries aren’t barriers that keep people out, but bridges that create healthier, more authentic connection.

In This Episode:

  • A personal story about the first time I set a real boundary (and how it changed everything)
  • Why we’ve been taught that boundaries are selfish (and why that’s a lie)
  • The friendship that taught me the cost of not having boundaries
  • Why disappointing someone is not the same as harming them
  • How to set boundaries with compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • What to do when people push back against your boundaries

This isn’t about becoming cold or distant. It’s about loving yourself and others well enough to be honest.

Reflection Prompt:

Think about one relationship where you need to set a boundary. Get clear on what it is, communicate it with love, and hold it—even when it’s uncomfortable.
