Whether we realize it or not, we have all come into contact with narcissists and control freaks- People who seek to manipulate us, control us, and tell us what to do - usually for their own personal gain or to satisfy their own needs. Often we don't see anything wrong with these behaviors, having grown up around family and friends who exhibit these traits. Today, social psychologist Dr. Kelly  will discuss the steps to identifying whether people in your life are narcissists or control freaks (there IS a difference!) and help empower listeners with tools to liberate themselves from the negative influence of these energies. We will talk about the rising trends in narcissism among young people (thanks in part to changes in our society like the influx of social media) as well as why narcissists seem to attract empaths, and why control freaks tend to attract people with low- self esteem.
