This technique takes advantage of the fact that all of us prefer people to stand on one side vs the other when we are talking to them. Essentially, we are more comfortable when someone is on either the left or the right side and we are uncomfortable when they are on the other side and understanding this can help us to improve our communication skills by leveraging this knowledge.
