Being hard on yourself is an unfortunate effect of anxiety or perfectionism. We blame ourselves for this and we chastise ourselves for things we've done wrong, things we didn't do, things we didn't do perfectly... . We spend all our time focusing on the past and beating ourselves up about things we can't change anymore. We fill up with worry and fear and it continues to cycle downwards... In reality, you don’t have to always be so hard on yourself. There are ways to stop and to even start liking yourself.
