“You need to associate with people that inspire you, people that challenge you to rise higher, people that make you better. Don't waste your valuable time with people that are not adding to your growth. Your destiny is too important” Joel Osteen.
Entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster. There will be ups and downs, from feeling empowered and unstoppable to being pushed back. I think we can all agree that it's a rollercoaster ride and you need to buckle up and surround yourself with the right people when you're growing your business--our success depends on it.
You need to surround yourself with these five people or groups of people in order to be successful in business.
#1 is always GOD
If you want to be successful and enjoy your success, you need to surround yourself with the right people. Your most important relationship is with God. My faith and the conversations I have with God all the time have taught me that spending time in God's word, spending time in his presence, spending time in his creation is the number one relationship I need to have in order to build a successful business.
Your Core Three Close Friends
Your ride-or-die friends, your closest friends in your circle. You need your three people to go with you on this entrepreneurial journey, just as Jesus took three people up the mountain to pray with him. It’s your trinity of support. These three things complement each other and create a safe place to share and grow.
You should have a coach
You need a coach if you're a business owner. Mentoring you on how to move forward on certain parts of your business. Someone who can help you get past the noise and focus on what's really important. One you've seen get results for others, and that matches your core values and goals.
Your Clients or Customers
You need to figure out who you want as clients when you're building your business. Relationships can be ineffective if you don't align with the client or your values aren't reflected. I'd suggest getting to know your client before you start working with them. Before anyone joins my Instagram Bootcamp, I do a 30-minute goal assessment. This gives me a chance to get to know them before accepting them into my coaching space, as well as give them a chance to see my style. It's important that both parties feel aligned in their working relationship.
Your Team
You should build a team to help you with tasks outside your expertise. I've got a team I can delegate work to. Because of this, I'm free to operate in my area of expertise and focus more on things I can only do as part of my business, like coaching. Having a team that works together is so important. When you build a team you can trust with little oversight, you can showcase your zone of genius.
