In episode 229, I chat with Steven Benedict, who was put into foster care at a young age and had to grow up very quickly. At age 8 he and his brother were adopted by two wonderful parents. Listen to Steven talk about how he dealt with such a traumatic childhood, how having loving parents helped him grow as a person and how they helped him develop his love for sports. After finally having a great family, Steven lost both of his parents around the same time a few years ago. Although a very dark period in his life, Steven found an inner strength again to live the life he's been meant to live. Hear him talk about being a professional track athlete training for the Olympics, building a non profit foundation for foster kids, and continuing to push himself to use his gifts and to help others thrive by listening to this episode.
