Today on the podcast I'm joined by Chelsey Schultz, creator of the travel blog The Ninja Gypsy, and the author of the book Inspired: The Stories of Nine Solo Female Travelers. . This was a conversation that I was really looking forward to. Because like me, Chelsey is also a martial artist. She started training in Uechi-Ryu Karate at age 14, and now holds a 3rd degree black belt. She's also trained in other styles as she traveled around the world; including Tae Kwon Do in South Korea, and Muay Thai in Thailand. . Throughout her travels, Chelsey received many questions as to whether or not she felt safe traveling alone. And she soon found that safety was a concern for many aspiring travelers, both men and women alike. Therefore, she decided to take what she's learned regarding self-defense and travel safety, and share them with others through her blog. . In this episode Chelsey tells about her journey; both as a martial artist and as a world traveler. She talks about the highlights the she's experienced, the challenges that she faced, and the life lessons that she's learned. We also discuss the benefits that you can gain through martial arts training. The value of hard work when pursuing things that you want to achieve in your life. And ways that you can stay safe as you go out and travel the world. .
