Today on the podcast I'm joined by Chelsey Schultz, creator of the travel blog The Ninja Gypsy, and the author of the book Inspired: The Stories of Nine Solo Female Travelers. . This was a conversation that I was really looking forward to. Because like me, Chelsey is also a martial artist. She started training in Uechi-Ryu Karate at age 14, and now holds a 3rd degree black belt. She's also trained in other styles as she traveled around the world; including Tae Kwon Do in South Korea, and Muay Thai in Thailand. . Throughout her travels, Chelsey received many questions as to whether or not she felt safe traveling alone. And she soon found that safety was a concern for many aspiring travelers, both men and women alike. Therefore, she decided to take what she's learned regarding self-defense and travel safety, and share them with others through her blog. . In this episode Chelsey tells about her journey; both as a martial artist and as a world traveler. She talks about the highlights the she's experienced, the challenges that she faced, and the life lessons that she's learned.
