For a long time, almost every business could claim to be sustainable, and it was hard to tell which claims were true and which were just greenwashing. The result was a lack of progress towards a more sustainable future.

 

This is where the EU Taxonomy enters the story. As our guest in the new episode of The Switch Podcast describes it, a list of answers to the question “What is sustainable?”.

 

The person who helped us understand the seemingly perplexing system of EU Taxonomy was Søren Berg Rasmussen, Investment Manager at Nefco, the Nordic Green Bank. At Nefco, he looks for Nordic small and medium-sized green technology and solution companies for Nefco to finance. Søren is also an EU Taxonomy and ESG enthusiast, and he describes himself as a green investment manager who is always seeking the sweet spot between pragmatism and regulation.
