The Catapult Effect

How to Use Comedy as a Life Skill with Melanie Curtis

Listen Later

As someone who has experienced a significant amount of pain in her life, I know how hard it can be to find something to make you smile, let alone laugh.

Laughter is a free tool that we all have available at any time, but when you hurt all the time, it can be tough to find joy and laughter in life.

That’s why I wanted to have my friend, mentor, and coach, Melanie Curtis, come join us today to talk about cultivating comedy as a life skill.

In today's episode you will learn:

  • Why something is funny…and why something similar is offensive/minimalizing instead of funny
  • Why and how comedy and laughter help pain
  • An eye-rolling joke
  • How you can make the darker moments a lot less dark by seeing the comedy in life
