How to Use Instagram Live for your Business and Brand - FAQ

Is Instagram Live still useful for building an audience? It's time to shed some light on this feature since I've been getting this question often lately.  Most of us have forgotten about this feature on Instagram, but it's still a valuable tool for growing a business. When it comes to making money, video is still the best way to connect with your audience.

Studies have shown that consumers who watch live videos are more likely to make a purchase from you. Compared to blogs and static content, video is preferred by 82% of consumers. If you aren't using Instagram Lives, a free valuable resource, you are potentially losing money.

 How can you make use of this feature for your business? It all comes down to having a strategy and understanding how it works. Like stories, they are only available for 24 hours. This has its advantages and disadvantages. 

Live videos are pushed to your followers and queued up for them. It allows them to communicate in real-time with you. The benefit of real-time is that you can’t hide the process with fancy editing. You become more relatable when they get to know the real you. 

How to build your business with Instagram Lives. Instagram Live Money Hits:

  • Consistency is the first part of the strategy. You will eventually be able to establish a specific day and time when you are doing your value-driven Instagram Lives, and your audience will begin to expect you to appear there. By doing so, you can stay at the top of your followers' minds and connect with them on a deeper level, as well as start conversations with them.  


  • Collaboration is also an important part of the strategy. Every week, I did an Instagram Live with @thesamanthaparker where we discussed business building and invited guests to join us. The benefits of these are that they allow you to reach out to other people's audiences while serving your audience with different points of view or expertise. 


  • Make sure you know what you will talk about. It's all about providing value to your audience. In addition to teaching, you can share a product, demonstrate it, answer questions your ideal client might have, and talk about what you're launching. Make sure you approach this with the intention of serving and sharing your expertise.
