In this week’s episode of How You Grievin?, With Malcolm: Finding Joy in Grief, Malcolm goes solo to explore something we don’t always associate with grief: joy.
Can you laugh and still be grieving? Can you enjoy your life without feeling guilty? And does finding happiness mean you’re forgetting the person who transitioned?
Malcolm reflects on learning to remember not only how someone transitioned, but how they LIVED — the laughter, music, food, sayings, and memories that can still bring a smile.
Because grief and joy don’t have to compete. You can miss them and still enjoy your life. You can cry and still laugh. You can grieve and still choose joy.

A Trip Down Memory Lane: Part 2
This time, I’m taking you to the Southside of Atlanta, back to the first apartment my sister Kia and I shared with my nephew Naziar and Grandma Furlow.
We cooked a lot. We laughed A LOT. We argued. 😂We lived.
There are so many stories I could tell you about this place, but this short video isn’t about telling them all. It’s about the feeling of being back in a space that holds so many pieces of my life with Kia.
Walking through this neighborhood brought back memories I didn’t even realize I was carrying.
Sometimes going back is beautiful. Sometimes it hurts. Sometimes it’s both.
Come Back Down Memory Lane with me for Part 2.
In this series, I’m taking you with me as I revisit some of the places I lived during my first years in Atlanta with my sister, Kia.
For our first stop, we’re going back to where it all started for us on Highland Avenue. This place holds memories of humble beginnings, growing together, and moments with Kia that mean even more to me today.
So come take this trip with me, and listen as I share a few of the memories I still hold close.
Welcome to A Trip Down Memory Lane.
