Your identity can feel very fixed.
Like this is just who I am.
But your identity is not set in stone. It’s the story you tell about yourself—over and over.
It’s how you describe yourself. How you talk to yourself. The labels you use.
“This is who I am…” and then comes the story.
If you don’t like parts of that story, you can change them.
Before anything else, know this: you are already whole and valuable right now. Not later. Not once things change. Now.
That’s important, because changing your identity doesn’t come from trying to fix yourself. It comes from understanding yourself.
A lot of times, there are parts of your story you don’t want to look at. They get pushed back, ignored, or covered with shame.
That’s normal.
But when you start looking at your story without judgment, something shifts. You understand why you do what you do. You see how your past shaped your patterns.
From there, you get to choose something new.
You don’t erase your past. You don’t pretend it didn’t happen. But it doesn’t define who you are now.
It’s like something that used to hurt finally healing. You might remember it, but it doesn’t have the same impact.
This is where change happens.
You start telling a new story.
“I am a woman who…”
And you practice that.
When old thoughts come up, you don’t fight them. You just remind yourself: that’s not who I am anymore.
Over time, your life catches up with your identity.
You stop chasing validation and start living as the woman you’ve decided to be.
That’s the shift.
