    Exhortation to Worship
    Psalm 95:6, 7a
Psalm 95 begins with a call to sing praises to the Lord. The invitation to come is found three times in today’s text. The messianic implication in these verses is confirmed by the usage of this psalm in the New Testament. It is quoted in Hebrews 3 and 4, where it is attributed to David.
“The anthem begins with an expression of Israel’s worship in which the knowledge of God is shown to be inseparable from the imprint of his action upon them at the Red Sea and in the wilderness.”

Holy Spirit, rain down, rain down
    Oh, Comforter and Friend
How we need Your touch again
Holy Spirit, rain down, rain down
    Let Your power fall
    Let Your voice be heard
    Come and change our hearts
As we stand on Your word
    Holy Spirit, rain down
No eye has seen, no ear has heard
No mind can know what God has in store
So open up Heaven, open it wide
Over Your church and over our lives
Good Morning FB. Being up this early is not me (Look at God). God has me up for a reason. It is praying time. Praying for strength, praying for continued courage and praying for him to keep my family in perfect peace. Do you know what reflection means to me? It means saying, "Thank You Lord for all you have done and will do". We can't waste time worrying about the past because it's gone. All we
Our family has seen so much for 2014. I would like to say to my family.
ONLY GOD can turn a MESS into a MESSAGE.. A TEST into a TESTIMONY.. A TRIAL into a TRIUMPH.. A VICTIM into a VICTORY!! HE makes no mistakes. God's will is not always our will. Believe, keep the faith and put all your trust in OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN.
I love you all and continued blessings upon all of us.@??#‎RIPNEPHEWKYLANHOWARD??

These are trying times in our country. Folks are hurting, bewildered, and confused. It is times like these that reveal true leadership; Those willing to stand up and speak out to confront controversial topics and provide direction and proactive solutions. Your ability to marry Christianity with social activism is reminiscent of the great leaders of the Civil Rights era. Keep up the great work!

In Troubled Times, Does 'The Black Church' Still Matter?
    From Michel Martin Going There
African-American clergy, academics and activists will hold a march on Washington this week, protesting the grand jury decisions in Ferguson, Mo. and New York City and call on the federal government to intervene in the prosecutions of police officers accused of unjustified use of force.
I talked with Reverend Raphael Warnock and Eddie Glaude, Jr., two prominent African-American religious thinkers, about the role of black churches in the wake of major protests and demonstrations inspired by events in Ferguson and New York City. Warnock is the senior pastor at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga. — a pulpit once held by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. — and was in Washington to attend a conference hosted by the Black Church Center for Justice and Equality. Glaude is a professor of religion and chair of the Center for African American Studies at Princeton University. In 2010, he wrote an attention-grabbing essay called "The Black Church is Dead."
A black parishioner shares his frustration with the absence of outrage from the pulpit at his majority-white place of worship.

    Five myths about America’s policeOpinions
    Radley Balko
America’s police forces are in the spotlight. After the police shooting deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., and 12-year-old Tamir Rice in Cleveland, as well as this past week’s decision by a grand jury not to indict the officer caught on video choking New York resident Eric Garner , who later died, Americans from the White House to the streets are debating or protesting police militarization, body cameras, lethal force — and whether enough is done to hold bad cops accountable.

  • I Can't Breath I Can't Breath I Can't Breath I Can't Breath I Can't Breath I Can
    'I can't breathe!'
He was a 43-year-old married father of six. His alleged crime: Selling "loose," untaxed cigarettes on a Staten Island street corner. He was tackled by a gaggle of police officers, including one who subdued him for agonizing seconds with a chokehold, a move that the New York police department had outlawed because of its propensity for causing severe injury and death. The entire encounter was captured clearly on video. After Eric Garner did indeed perish in the takedown, a medical examiner classified his death "a homicide."
    Garner's last words were, "I can't breathe!"
Today, a grand jury on Staten Island gave us the dull surprise of no indictment for the officer who killed Garner. It raises so many questions. Given the fact that a high-quality video of this killing did not yield an indictment, will the expected rise in the use of police body cameras (including in Philadelphia) make a difference? Can a grand jury process run by prosecutors who work hand-in-glove with the cops on the beat ever produce justice when those officers behave unlawfully? When will Americans accept there are two justice systems in the country -- one for the powerful, one for the powerless -- and when will something be done?

  • Lebanese security forces have detained a wife and son of Islamic State (IS)
Do Not Let What Is happening in the World, Take your Faith and Eyes Away from God.
Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed - that exhilarating finish in and with God - he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever. And now he's there, in the place of honor, right alongside God.
    << Hebrews 12:1Hebrews 12:2Hebrews 12:3 >>
Last month, IS denied reports that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had been killed or injured in an air strike
Lebanese security forces have detained a wife and son of Islamic State (IS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi near the border with Syria, the army says.
The pair, whose names were not given, were picked up by military intelligence after entering Lebanon 10 days ago.
The al-Safir newspaper reported that Baghdadi's wife was being questioned at the Lebanese defence ministry.
In June, Baghdadi was named the leader of the "caliphate" created by IS in the parts of Syria and Iraq it controls.
Last month, the group denied reports that he had been killed or injured in an air strike by US-led forces near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
It released an audio recording purportedly of Baghdadi in which he said the caliphate was expanding and called for "volcanoes of jihad" to erupt.
