Today, I’m with Entrepreneur, CEO, and Co-Founder of Exponential Destiny, Marcus Shingles, as he shares how he did it and how he does it all to this day.

management consulting firms, where he is a leader in the innovation practice. He is also currently an advisor and on the board of several innovative start-ups. Marcus previously served as the CEO of the XPRIZE Foundation, a non-profit and the global leader in prize and crowdsourcing models for innovation and technology breakthroughs used to solve humanity's grandest challenges. Previously, he also served as a Partner (Executive) for another top global consulting firm, Deloitte, leading the organization's technology and innovation practice. As an entrepreneur, Marcus leads and advises several startups, and Marcus also founded and led his own business and IT strategy consulting firm. Marcus started his career at the Kellogg Company, where he led digital transformation for sales and marketing and global IT.

Most of the time, leaders aspire to become the selfless head of the pack—someone who will never put their interest and even their growth over others. As much as we think that this is great, it can be detrimental not only to you but also to your team. In this episode, I talk about how I became a better leader and allowed my team to grow more when I became selfish. Sometimes, we need to be selfish and figure out who we truly are first before we can selflessly serve others.
