This is a gentle soothing reminder that YOU DESERVE IT ALL...
Digging a trench is just like digging your own grave. You dig a hole to the depth of your chin and then you jump in there and stay there for days… Pain, discomfort and no-sleep, I faced one of the most uncomfortable situations but was able to smile all the way. How? Why? Listen to find out.
A brand is not a logo. A brand is the story behind a person, a company, a product and a service. That's a brand. You need to understand what brand means to you because everybody has one. Everything, every organization, product and person has a brand. You are a brand because there are perceptions about you out there, good or bad. Your name will bring up feelings you’ve reinforced over time. From the moment you wake up till the moment you go to bed, you are strengthening your brand, consciously or not. Is that perception really you? How do we start to shape our brand?
We are all natural liars. One of the lies I’ve told myself for the longest time is that happiness is tied to success and success meant money, titles, but it also meant taking on unbearable negative stress, mired in toxic company politics and being a terrible husband and father. See how this lie is so conflicting and puts me in a situation where I can never be happy? The very act of pursuing happiness meant I was doomed to be depressed, with resentment towards where I’m at in my career and resentment toward those I loved for holding me back. Isn’t that a terrible situation? All because I was conditioned to lie to myself and take those lies as truths. In this post, I layout four steps to turn your lies into empowering beliefs.
If you have no problems dreaming, but have trouble following through on goals and projects, you need to start thinking differently. Start thinking small, not big. Think as small as you can so you can start doing. The mere act of doing will snowball into an avalanche as long as you keep going. Thinking big can sometimes trap you into procrastination because the big dreams are so far removed from where you are today, your mind instantly think about how long it will actually take to get “there” and so you can take your time and you can postpone taking action. This is paralyzing! Break free and think small.
If you are thinking about how to squeeze more time into your day, you may want to experiment with waking up really early. I wake up between 4 and 4.30am in order to get my workout in and then focus on my personal projects. With a three-year-old, a full-time job and responsible for food in the family, there is really no other time in the day where it can be prioritized. Me time is truly for me when I’m the only one awake! After months of doing this, I know the challenges first hand and since the primitive part of your brain is always there to prevent you from anything uncomfortable, your number one enemy will be yourself – which is usually true anytime you want to grow and or work on anything worthwhile. There is no magic or playbook or workbooks to get up early. You just need to keep doing it. In this episode, I share the learnings and the steps to start the experiment and convert it into a habit.
