With a massive bet for the winner come seasons end. We also predicted trophy winners like: Cup Champions, MVP, Norris and Vezina! Plus a BRAND-NEW SEGMENT that one certain fan base might not like. Tune in!
We are back again this week as we wrap up the division previews. NHL hockey is back as preseason is well underway already and just a few weeks away from the regular season starting up. In this week's episode we cover every team in the Atlantic and pick who we think will have the best season. Maple Leafs have high expectations, can they live up to it? Tampa is still a dangerous team but there has been drama inserted into the organization now. Boston will need to overcome the loss of Mr. Selke, Ottawa and Buffalo try to find their way back into the playoffs this year. Detroit seems to be at least trying to take the next step. Florida will was bit by the injury bug during their post-season run so they won't be fully heathly for at least a month. And then we have the Canadiens who look to secure a top 5 pick in next years draft.
We have been away from the mics way to long. The offseason was gruesome and difficult for the both of us to get back in the weight room to improve our game for this upcoming season. But, we are back with a preview for the Metro.
We think it is clear the Devils and Hurricanes will be juggernauts but who else will make it in this division? Will we see any surprises? We also cover the stuff that has happened during our break away, such as signings and drama.
Host Joel doesn't know who Travis Scott is?!?! What year is he living in? Central Division is a top heavy division with a couple clear juggernauts. Boys discuss which of the teams they like to go deep into the playoffs next season and what team or teams could surprise. Erik Karlsson finally got traded as he is headed to Pittsburgh; we cover the whole trade. Tom Wilson and Troy Terry resign with their clubs, and Dumba signs a new deal in Arizona. A packed episode so enjoy the flight.
Is there extraterrestrial lifeform or are we the only ones in this enormous galaxy? The boys discuss the topic. The dive into the Pacific Division preview; who has the best team going into the season next year? Oilers, Knights, Kings, Flames, Canucks, Kraken, Ducks, or Sharks. Spolier alert it won't be the Sharks ;) Aho signs a big extension with the Hurricanes, Senators find their Debrincat replacement, and Swayman resigns in Boston after arbitration. Tune in for a great episode.
After another couple weeks off the boys link up for an off-season episode. It has been a slow off-season after July 2nd so we provide our listeners with some song recommendations, inform them of the latest news such as; Bergeron hanging up the skates, Erik Karlsson trade destinations, Kiprusoff getting his jersey retired by the Calgary Flames, Debrincat Trade, Boston Bruins talks, Players on Make it or Break it Deals and a ton more. Enjoy a few beers/coolers while listening to your favourite hockey podcast!
We have been away for a couple weeks, but since the NHL is now officially in full swing during the off-season. The boys discuss the best signings, which teams have improved the most, surprises during the draft, the players select and their potential. This is one of our longest episodes to date, so settle in your favorite lazy-boy chair and crack a cold beer and get caught up in what's happening around the NHL.
The VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS are Stanley Cup Champions! What a run by this team, everyone stepped up and no one was a liability to this team during the playoffs. Marchessault wins the Conn Smythe Trophy but could have been award to many others on the Knights. Touch on the Penguins hiring Spezza as the Assistant GM, Devils signing Bratt and all of the UFA's. The Rangers have finally named their new head coach and it is a guy who has been around the league for a long time. Sad that the hockey season is over, but don't worry listeners we aren't going anywheres. We will still be dropping weekly episodes and covering stuff that happens around the NHL and also any other sporting news.
The Boys decided to record a late one after Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals, and we are glad we decided to wait. Florida finally found a way to get a win against Vegas and get their first ever Stanley Cup Finals win but will they be able to comeback in this series? Columbus makes a big splash not once but twice as they beef up their backend (we recorded before the Severson news broke). Flyers seem to be rebuild and not many players are safe. Tons of drama in Winnipeg, PLD wants out but where does he land? Hellebuyck, Scheifele, and Wheeler might also be out the door. John Gibson is also a name out on the market. A brand new segment as well that we think the listeners will enjoy! Thanks for listening and supporting us!
We covered a ton this episode as we were unable to upload our previous episode that we recorded last week, such a shame you guys couldn't have listened to it. Back on track now and hopefully no more hiccups with our program.
Stanley Cup Finals are here!!! This is where legends are born! What team is going to come out on top, Vegas or Florida? We clearly couldn't make a decision and I think we are still undecided but we both made great points in our Make the Case segment. Vegas is humming right now and see to be a well oiled machine. While the Panthers are the underdogs out to prove everybody wrong. Going to be a fun series. Other news around the hockey world as Latvia won a bronze medal and Canada won a gold medal but which one was more important? Leafs and Flames found their new GM's, Predators hire their new head coach, seems like the Rangers are closing in on their new coach as well. Tune in for a great episode.
