The first non-Miyazaki Studio Ghibli movie that any of the three of us have seen, we were excited but nervous about what this film would have in store. Pretty much all I knew about it was that it involved tanuki - but also, I didn't know a lot about tanuki. You might not either, in which case I recommend this informative video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icyOAc_pAvY
But what is Pom Poko about? What do the tanuki in the movie DO? Is the film any good? And more specifically, how's it hold up? Listen to find out!

In the 90s, many studios attempted to copy the success that Disney was having with their films, including Warner Bros, whose efforts were a little all over the place. After Space Jam and Cat's Don't Dance, but before The Iron Giant, there was this film, based on a novel and Arthurian legend, and stuffed to the brim with singing talent, including Eric Idle, Bryan White, The Coors, and Celine Dion. Its one of those films that many 90s kids remember fondly - but is it worthy of being introduced to a new generation? Listen to find out!

Let's jump back to 1979 with a Toei Animation movie based on an old Japanese folk tale! This is an interesting one, because of how heavily it's based in Japanese mythology and story structure. This movie's got a message to send, but is it good? The answer is complicated. Listen to find out!

Starting from Zombie Island, this is the third Scooby-Doo movie in what would become a long line of them, and also the final one to be animated with traditional cells. It played on Cartoon Network often, maybe even more often than Zombie Island, so for a certain age demographic, it's considered a classic on principal. But how does it actually hold up, in the year 2020? Listen to find out!

The Digimon movie isn't just the beginning of the Digimon series, it's the directoral debut of Mamoru Hosoda, who would go on to direct several episodes of the series, a second Digimon movie, and, eventually, many classic movies of his own. How do these first two movie efforts of his hold up? And are they enjoyable even if you're not familiar with the series? Listen to find out!

One movie, two VERY different versions of it. All three of us, including guest Valerie, watched the Miramax version of this movie many years ago. But since then, a version known as The Recobbled Cut has emerged, and become known as the only true way to watch the film for most people. How do they stand up against each other? And, perhaps more importantly, how does each movie stand up to the march of time? Listen to find out!

Dipping back into the Disney Renaissance, we rewatch Hercules, an old stand-by from Danika's youth. The soundtrack is definitely still a bop, but how's the rest of the movie hold up? And how embarrassed am I that we forgot who Rip Torn is, then proceeded to mention Men in Black later in the episode? The answer to the latter is 'very', but to the former? You'll have to listen to find out!
