About Kelsey
Kelsey Pytlik (she/her) co-founded Gild Collective in the Spring of 2015. Gild Collective changes individual views and behaviors to shift workplace cultures and break down gender barriers. Through thoughtfully designed leadership workshops and gender inclusion trainings, Gild aims to close the leadership development gap for women and create an inclusive environment for diverse talent to thrive. Kelsey has an undergraduate degree from Miami University, and Master’s degree in User Experience Design from Kent State University. Kelsey spent her early career in creative agencies and ecommerce retailers conducting user research and designing usable interfaces. At Gild Collective, Kelsey’s expertise in understanding user needs translates directly to developing powerful curriculum that addresses the needs of each organization through Gild Collective programs. In addition to Gild, Kelsey is a participant in endurance events to fundraise for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through Team in Training—in 2018, she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro for the cause!

About Julie
Julie Sumner is a recovering attorney who practiced as a labor and employment litigator for over a decade. During that time, Julie defended employers when they were sued for harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and claims of that nature. Julie became increasingly frustrated with the reactive nature of litigation. So, in 2016, Julie left law-firm life and started Monarch Endeavors, LLC, an HR training and consulting company that guides employers through their "Oh, Shit!" moments with their employees.

About Anna
Anna Gibson graduated from Cleveland State University with a Master of Labor Relations & Human Resources and received the 2013 SHRM Foundation Graduate Student Academic Scholarship. Anna’s HR career began 20 years ago when a part-time photography job led her to her first HR role. Since joining The Lincoln Electric Company in 2015, she has been promoted three times. She is currently an HR Business Partner at the world headquarters in Euclid, Ohio. Anna has served in a variety of volunteer leadership positions over the years. She is an Inaugural Member and Past President of Cleveland State’s Young Alumni Council; a former member of Engage! Cleveland’s Board of Directors and Leadership Council Steering Committee. Anna is Chair for Women in Lincoln Leadership (WILL), previously serving terms as Vice Chair and Community Outreach Committee Chair. Anna has been involved with Cleveland SHRM since 2014. Prior to joining the NOHRC committee, she was the Communication Committee’s Social Media Director, overlapping into 2021. She was the NOHRC Speaker Committee Lead for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 conferences. Having just finished as Co-chair for the 2022 NOHRC Speaker Series, Anna is now the 2023 Chair.

Erin Hlavin is the Human Capital Manager for Thogus Products, rp+m, and Jalex Medical for 15 years. She knows first-hand the challenges of a dynamic group of businesses that have experienced tremendous growth. She leads efforts in the continuous improvement of recruiting and retaining talent, and training. In addition to professional accomplishments, Erin is deeply committed to giving back to the community. She leads the Membership & Development Committee of the Lorain County Manufacturing Sector Partnership (LCMSP). She has volunteered for the Cleveland SHRM NOHRC Exhibitor & Sponsorship Committee since 2019. She is the Co-Chair for NOHRC2023 and will be the Chair for 2024. Erin lives with her Fiancé, Brian, in Westlake, Ohio. She enjoys traveling, going to concerts and sporting events, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.

Jeff Palkowski, MHRM, SHRM-SCP, PHR is a Workforce Relations Manager and Divisional Disability Representative with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Information Technology. He has worked in human resources, primarily in the public sector, for nearly 20 years. His previous HR roles have included HR generalist and business partner roles, recruitment specialist, compensation analyst, and Assistant Director of Human Resources for Wisconsin Badgers Athletics (On, Wisconsin!). Jeff’s passion for human resources including giving back to the profession in many ways through networking, mentoring, and as an active volunteer leader with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at the national, state, and local levels. Jeff currently serves on the Wisconsin State Council SHRM Board as the State Director-Elect, a SHRM Advocacy Captain for Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District, and member of the SHRM Foundation Leadership Circle. He has serves as a SHRM Social Media Influencer since 2019. Monica Brown is a highly regarded and recognized human resources and community leader, working for the Cleveland Foundation since January 2007. In her current role as Vice President for Human Resources & Building Operations, Monica is a valued member of the leadership team, responsible for the ongoing, organization-wide development of human capital strategies that align with the foundation’s mission and strategy and provide for an equitable and inclusive culture that ensures the foundation’s ability to attract, engage and retain the most diverse and talented people. Prior to her role at the foundation, she was the human resources leader for the Western Reserve Historical Society. Monica earned a bachelor of science from Kent State University and a master’s degree in labor relations and human resources management from Cleveland State University. She is certified as a senior human resources professional by the HR Certification Institute. Monica was awarded the distinction of Business Leader in both the 2012 and 2016 HR Awards, sponsored and presented by the Employers Resource Council (ERC) and the Cleveland Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
