The U.S. House of Representatives considers H.R.1450, the Treating Tribes and Counties as Good Neighbors Act.
The bill ensures that tribes and counties are treated in the same manner as states when it comes to good neighbor agreements, also known as GNAs.
Under GNAs, tribes and counties will be able to retain the proceeds of timber sales from restoration and protection projects on federal forest lands.
