  • Someone Else’s Problem? — A case for card payments (2/6)

This second episode in the series shows how change is possible when there is a strong business case but to do this it is important to join up people across different functions like Treasury, Finance, Procurement, Sourcing and Accounts Payable. These different functions experience pain and benefits to different degrees, which affects their willingness to embrace - or resistance to - change. Who owns the buying process and/or the payments in the business? Everyone and no one? Some issues that Vincent will cover include the Supplier’s perspective from the Order to Cash process, what is the real cost of a Purchase Order as well as the need to group transactions into high, low or no touch processes.

  • Cultivating the best Environment? — A case for card payments (1/6)

In this first episode we will explore the environment for card payments and how they can resolve issues of compliance, control and security within the Requisition to Pay process. Vincent will be arguing that card payments are an essential tool for delivering business value for both the buyer and the supplier, but that there is a need for behavioural change to facilitate adoption. Some issues we will cover are the purpose of B2B payment cards, how to get staff to do what they are supposed to do, how to deploy effective controls to enable spend at approved suppliers and how to minimise security and risk.
