What happens when you refuse to give up, and choose to move up instead?

In Episode 112 of HTM On The Line, Bryant Hawkins Sr. sits down with Anntonett Gillins, MS, CHTM, a retired military BMET, adjunct professor at St. Philip’s College, and Director of Education and Workforce Development for Elevate HTM.

Anntonett shares how she entered the military at 17, discovered biomedical equipment technology, and built a 21-year career that included serving as a BMET, instructor, facility manager, safety officer, and leader.

Together, they discuss the HTM workforce shortage, investing in entry-level technicians, developing the next generation, making difficult leadership decisions, and creating clearer pathways into the profession.

Her message is simple but powerful: When life gets difficult, don’t quit. Pivot, keep growing, and remember, “Never give up. Move up.”
