  • FlagSSS Day '23 Commissioned Artists
    This year FlagSSS Day organizers received a grant to commission 5 artists to create flags for the march through Troy. Angela Beallor, one of the organizers, introduces the segment and this year's FlagSSS theme. You'll also hear from the commissioned artists Azuré Kauikeōlani Iversen-Keahi, William PK Carter, Eugene O’Neill, Angus McCullough, and hana van der kolk.

  • Harriet Warnock Graham Attended March on Washington
    The July 4th 2023 "oration" presented by Underground Railroad Education Center had volunteers reading excerpts from various speeches delivered at the 1963 March on Washington. One of the people in the audience actually attended that March! Hear Harriet Warnock Graham's memories of the people and heat, plus her thoughts on social justice and the need for getting people from different backgrounds working together.   • Health Dept. Data Shows Cancer Clusters Near Seneca Landfill
    Water Front recently published several stories about cancer clusters near the Seneca Meadows landfill, the state's largest. Environmentalists are concerned that the Department of Health has now stopped showing cancer data for individual census tracts. In Albany County, the data shows cancer clusters around the Norlite hazardous waste incinerator, the old ANSWERS garbage incinerator, and the Ravena Cement Plant.   • VFP Golden Rule Boat for Nuclear Disarmament in Albany July 11 - 12
    The Golden Rule sailboat of Veterans For Peace (VFP) will make a stop in Albany on July 11 and 12 as part of their campaign to oppose nuclear weapons and war.
