  • Joey is Raising Awareness about Houselessness in Troy, NY
    Izel Joseph Dickerson also known as Joey has been camping out in Troy, NY since July 11, 2022, to draw attention to houselessness. After camping out for nine days in downtown Troy, he moved his encampment to Hoosick Street under the bridge. Hudson Mohawk Producer Elizabeth Press spoke with Joey while he was still downtown.
    That was Izel Joseph Dickerson. On August 16 he plans on leaving on a cross-country tour to raise awareness about the housing epidemic.

    “Into Loving Hands” is a film that follows Rebecca and Chris Williams who were thrilled to be expecting a second child, but at a routine ultrasound halfway through the pregnancy, they discovered that something was terribly – fatally – wrong. Director Victoria Kereszi spoke with Rebecca and midwife Michelle Doyle about choice and the decisions made by the Williams family. This segment was produced by Sina Basila Hickey.
    A sneak preview of the documentary film “Into Loving Hands” is showing on Friday, July 29, at 6:30pm at the Arts Center of the Capital Region, followed by a panel discussion with the Williams family.

    Since April 2022, the workers at Amazon's Schodack, NY warehouse have been organizing to become a local of the Amazon Labor Union. Organizing Campaign Manager Heather Goodall has been providing weekly updates to Hudson Mohawk Magazine's Cathy Silber. In this July 28, 2022 segment, Heather describes Amazon's latest intimidation tactics, anti-union propaganda in required employee meetings, the Amazon response to the Schodack Warehouse memorial service for a New Jersey employee who suffered a fatal heart attack while loading a truck after being sent back to work following complaints of chest pain on the job, and more.
