This is part 2 of Friday’s episode, episode 42 with Anna! I don’t know what else to write so I’m just copy-pasting the intro to a nearly 20-page document in which I’ve done a thing. Keep reading.

Whether you’re battling a post-Ramadan slump, returning to #school after years, months or a day, or embarking on a new #career, you may be thinking “how can I be more productive?” As someone who graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Molecular Biology, you can imagine I’m a nerd. So, in true form, I scoured articles and scientific research in #neuroscience, #organizationalpsychology, and #ergonomics, which as a field of study extends lightyears beyond the ubiquitous meaning of the postures your body should assume for the least stress, so that I could learn how exactly you and I can be more #creative—a notch or two above productivity for those in “thought” labor—and more #productive, which, as you’ll discover, I generally designated synonymous with efficiency. I don’t know about you, but like some #academics and essentially all new #mothers (#notme), I want my effort to time ratio to shrink, thereby allowing more time for fun pastimes like hiding from reality or #sleeping. Join me on this glorified rabbit-hole of a journey into the depths of life-hacky and at times pro-capitalism, at others, anti-capitalism—science.
And please note that these findings are not proof that your application of them will elicit identical results—in research, you can only “prove” that any result is true by showing that it is statistically improbable for that result not to be true. So, while that can be a compelling case for the truthfulness of a thing, it does not incontrovertibly prove the truthfulness of a thing. Still, you’ll find the 100+ findings (I added some #funquestionmark non-science ones) and potential solutions mind-dazzling and more importantly, a relatively harmless way (the risk, however trivial, is yours) of attempting to become more creative or more #efficient.
