Donald Henry Gaskins damn-near had to fight since he was old enough to stand. Constantly beat up by one of his mom's boyfriends and by the boys at school, Donald had the name "Pee Wee" since birth due to his small frame and stature. As a result, Donald was shaped into a vicious little bastard that reveled in causing pain to anyone that crossed his path. By his teens, he was already well on his way to becoming a prolific career criminal, rapist, and murderer - quite possibly one of the most prolific in U.S. history. 

Whether you believe in capitol punishment or not, it's hard to argue against the opinion that maybe the world would have been better off if after his first arrest, he'd simply been taken out back behind the courthouse to be given a quick bullet behind the ear.

Bad combination of a manufactured personality, untreated mental disorders, and a house to himself led John Lawson to rename himself in honor of the demon from The Exorcist and do everything he could to fulfill his self-appointed role as a tool of the Devil himself. The brain is a wonderous and curious thing, and figuring out how or why what happened happened is a mystery in itself. 

Elizabeth Short, aka The Black Dahlia, is one of the most well-known unsolved murders in the country. The mystery of the culprit and the brutality of the crime are the stuff of legend, much like Jack the Ripper or the Zodiac. 

This episode, we're going to focus more on one of the top contenders on the long list of suspects in the Black Dahlia's gruesome murder, George Hodel Jr. Whether or not he was truly guilty of killing Elizabeth, he may have been guilty of several other crimes that occurred before they crossed paths...and perhaps a slew of others that happened after.

As dark and as macabre as it is, we can't help but get a sense of romantic tragedy from it all.

They were the first to use the black & white corpse paint for their shows...not like those glam-rockers in KISS, or the theatrical effect like Alice Cooper. They wanted to make ugly sounding music and look grotesque while they shocked the audience with impaled pig heads and self-mutilation, paving the way for Dimmu Borgir, Watain, Cradle of Filth and Marilyn Manson, years before most of them took the stage. 

Amidst all the black, spike-studded leather and jackbooted kids with long hair with nothing better to do than scream into a microphone and bang their heads, there was suicide, murder, and plots of terrorism.

If you were to ask Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap what he thought of Mayhem and how black these dudes were, he'd say "none...none more black."

On our first episode, we cover Ed Gein, the man whose odd life and notorious, murderous cravings served as the inspiration for several iconic horror movie villains that would plague the dreams of many. He's the guy who'd make you worry about that solitary and seemingly nice fellow that lives alone in that cabin in your quiet little town, and wonder what he gets up to out there, and if he's got some literal skeletons in his closet.
