As a word, "noosphere" is a loose synonym for three different meanings: the history and destiny of Homo sapiens; an emerging planetary nervous system, an emerging superorganism.

Throughout this series, we explore the conditions that gave rise to the noosphere:

1. Heredity

The transfer of genetic and cultural information from parents to offspring, generation to generation.

2. Tools

Instruments and technological devices that aids in accomplishing tasks.

3. Self-Consciousness

Conscious of one's own acts or states as belonging to or originating in oneself : aware of oneself as an individual.

4. Communication

A process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or behavior.

5. Population

A body of persons or individuals having a quality or characteristic in common, the total of particles at a particular energy level.

6. Trade

To exchange (something) for something else, typically as a commercial transaction.

7. Cerebralization

The developing capacity of a species to form an idea, mental image or understanding something.

8. Convergence

To come together and unite in a common interest or focus.

Across five different stages of humanity:

• Paleolithic (300,000 - 11,000 years ago)

• Neolithic (11,000 years ago - 3,000 BCE)

• Classical (3,000 BCE - 1400 CE)

• Modern (1,400 CE - present)

• Future

In this episode we investigate how transformation and expression of self-consciousness in the Classical stage of humanity contributed to the development of the noosphere.

For thousands of years, whenever humans spoke of profound matters, they quoted the words of the Gods. Athena, the Olympian Goddess said this. Ra, the Egyptian Sun God, said that. Such statements from sacred scriptures were regarded as eternal, unalterable, perfect. What mattered, for the order of society, was obedience to these pronouncements.
 
Then, a man came forward. He had a different way of talking that changed the world forever. His name was Zarathustra, one of history’s earliest individuals to express their internal sense of self-consciousness.

In this episode we investigate how increase in population in the Neolithic stage of humanity contributed to the emergence of the noosphere through the deepening bonds with one another. 

This can be seen as an expression of the cosmic law of love.

Love is the foundational dynamic for the universe's development.  The elements of the universe are seeking to bond in order to deepen their creativity, which we see even at the level of gravity.  Atoms attracted to each other give birth to stars and planets. 

It is the same at the human level.  Our attraction might have different names – fascination, allurement, love – but the dynamism is the same.  Union differentiates.  That is, union with things that one is not gives birth to who one truly is.

Pursuing what we love enables the universe to advance.  If a new world is to be born, it is crucial that we follow our unique fascinations.

Our role and responsibility is to bring forth a healthy, positive, and functional noosphere in all its power.  One that enables the full potential of each individual, humanity, and the Earth community as a whole.
