Recommend this book.
My first "in 50 Events" book, and I will certainly be reading more. this is more of a guide or an outline - it does not go into any sort of detail on any topics, but is a great place to find ideas for events and subjects you want to research further. the language is very vague, and leaves a lot of room for interpretation. I recommend this book, but read with an open mind and an understanding that this is one author's compilation and interpretation. It is also an easy and digestible read for those of you who are not avid readers *Update* as I read this I continue to find typographical errors, even different spellings of the same name on the same page. makes me wonder how reliable the data is.
Brief and interesting
Compiling 50 events that make human history is a huge task. The author tackles it well, but every event is described very briefly, just 1-2 pages on each one. These are types of events that you can write a whole book on each and every one so it is kind of underwhelming to crunch it down to a few facts. Besides that, it is entertaining to read, I read it in one sitting. If you need a brief reminder on humanity, this book is good enough for a couple of hours.
A fascinating and informative read!
A fascinating and informative read! A vivid picture of the events of the past! It simply retells the unfolding of the 50 major happenings in human history from the ancient civilizations to the modern times of today. Though we are now living in the present times, it is still noteworthy to know the things in the past so we could appreciate more of our todays. I recommend this book to be read to every human on earth alive!
Educational.
50 Note-Worthy events that made a mark to ancient civilization and modern.
This book shows how human evolves into a primitive creature to a cold-hearted beast. (Sadlyâ but true) Each chapter discussed how human explore and discover the world thus learning new things that gives way to technology as it is today. Each events was briefly summarized, grabbing the most important details only, the author made it simple enough to understand, includes images too and made this book a bit less boring. I think this book will be really helpful to students who would need a quick notes to History and Socio-Biology class.
Begins from the first humans who ever walk on earth, down to how agriculture was learnt, then how city arises, then comes new time where Jesus Christ lived up to the invention of the printing pressâ etc. Every events were important and really deserves the highlights of this book.
A wonderful introduction to history in 50 events!
I loved this book. It uses pictures to take you through all of human history in only 50 events. The key is that this book grabs the most important events in history and then builds around them.
