Nita Belles is the Founder and Executive Director of the non-profit organization, called In Our Backyard, which she started in 2006.  And she’s the author of a book by the same title.  Nita’s book, is considered a primer for human trafficking in America.  And Nita’s also Central Oregon’s Regional Director of (OATH) Oregonians Against Trafficking Humans. She works all across the nation helping victims and survivors of human trafficking and raising awareness about modern-day slavery.  She holds a Masters’ Degree in Theology with a Concentration in Women’s Concerns.  Nita is not only an advocate, but she’s also a wife, and she’s been married to her husband, Dan, for more than 30 years.
