This message begins with the glorious truth of propitiation: only God can satisfy God. Fallen humanity cannot satisfy God's righteous demands through personal goodness or religious efforts. Through His perfect, atoning, substitutionary sacrifice, Jesus accomplished what sinners could never accomplish for themselves. His blood satisfies God's righteous judgment and demonstrates His extraordinary love. We are the beneficiaries of His grace! Proverbs 21:2 and 8 reveal the problem of fallen humanity. Man's way is crooked, yet he believes himself to be right. We desperately need God's truth to expose our condition and His wisdom to direct our lives. James 3:13–18 shows us how to recognize that wisdom. Wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits. It produces humility, teachability, and right conduct. True wisdom is not merely something we know; it becomes visible in how we live. Proverbs 22:17–21 reveals the purpose of God's instruction. We are commanded to incline our ears, apply our hearts, keep His truth within us, and establish it upon our lips. Why? So that our trust may be in the Lord and we may be equipped to answer others with words of truth.
