2011 United Kingdom Alternative Vote referendum

it was 2011 not 2016, I don't know where I got the 2016 from, I just pulled it out of my ass I guess. I did not research before making this speech, so I remembered wrong. I just presented the year off-the-top-of-my-head, so 2011 not 2016. But the exact year fortunately makes no difference as far as this speech is concerned, it's in the 2010's that's what's relevant enough.

At present, the UK uses the "first past the post" system to elect MPs to the House of Commons. Should the "alternative vote" system be used instead?
