In the midst of our hunger for something more, Jesus stands at the door of our hearts, gently knocking, seeking entry into our lives. This hunger for God is a journey we've been exploring, and today we delve deeper into the significance of Jesus' invitation. Sin weakens our spiritual signal, dulling our ability to recognize God's presence and intervention. When our minds are consumed by sin, we become desensitized to His power. Our walk with God affects every aspect of our lives, from our relationships to our careers.
When we look at the ancient church of Laodicea, a wealthy and seemingly impressive congregation, we see that, beneath the surface, they were lukewarm and apathetic. Jesus longed to be welcomed into their midst, but they were too comfortable in their complacency. Jesus is a gentleman; He won't force His way where He isn't wanted. He stands outside, knocking, seeking permission to enter. It's up to us to let Jesus come in and take over.
