In Luke 17, we find a powerful story of ten lepers who were healed by Jesus. They were outcasts, isolated by a disease that affected their bodies and separated them from their families and communities. Yet, when they cried out for mercy, Jesus responded with compassion, instructing them to show themselves to the priests. As they walked in faith—before they saw the evidence of healing—they were made clean. Only one of the ten, a Samaritan, returned to thank Jesus, receiving not just physical healing, but a spiritual transformation.
This story invites us to reflect on our own faith. Are we willing to take steps of trust even when the outcome isn’t clear? Gratitude begins in those moments—choosing to praise God while still in the process. Like the one leper who returned, we’re called to turn back, thank Jesus, and recognize His hand in every blessing, no matter how small.
Today, let this be your encouragement: thank God not only for what He’s done but also for the steps you’re taking in faith. Whether you’re waiting on healing, restoration, or provision, gratitude keeps your heart aligned with His grace. Keep walking, keep trusting—and don’t forget to turn back and give thanks.
