As Human beings at some point we became sufficiently safe and secure enough to develop the notion of playing games, 

The basic philosophy of playing games is to simulate a repeatable scenario, sometimes, - but not exclusively , in competition with others , as well as individually or as a team, -!

within each game there  are clear achievable goals that challenge the skill , intelligence and or fitness of the players , who are either in the pursuit of simply enjoying the time spent or are chasing the  satisfaction that comes from winning … 

All that is innocent enough , that is until the games we play and the entertainment we seek starts to reach for extremes in order to keep its audience engaged,  perhaps distracted . 

Basic bat and ball , hoop and net sports have evolved along with the races of mankind , some games have links to the ancient past , while others began decades or mere years ago 

Though it seems a long way from the colosseum to the cages of mma the part of mans nature that knows  conflict , is still  today transfixed by the rage of battle and competition 

But where does it end , following history and highlighting and examining the recent and current trends in entertainment , we very well may find ourselves back where it all began
