Hungry, Hungry HIPAAs

Listen Later

Uh-oh, anti-maskers are at it again, and this time it is about the very core values of American society, meaning the value menus at your local Burger King, McDonald's and Subway. Anti maskers and fast food go together like Nazis and bad fashion sense. These people love them some deep fat fried donuts with powdered sugar and a microwaved burger patty in between those donuts with extra bacon and secret sauce. I mean, these people are always starting something with fast food employees. I suppose the perils of being an anti-masker (complete disregard for others, an ego the size of a football field, the ability to dismiss everything scientific as "opinion", etc.) are simply too much to handle for these poor little snowflakes. See, anti-maskers need to feel special; they need to feel "set apart" as the Christians say. I said at the very beginning of all of this that if you allow these maniacs to feel a sense of entitlement, that they will take it to the next level and openly defy all mandates and laws. But you did not listen to me; you listened to the moderates. You heard various calls to "unity" from career politicians and you said to yourself, "well, they must be right". Well, they were wrong, dead wrong and now we cannot even find people to work at these positions. This is all the fault of cowardly neutrality, the notion that bowing your head and saying nothing will somehow lead to peaceful solutions. The people who support this notion, this idea that you can simply allow people to break laws without repercussions, have failed you. Their methods did not stop the pandemic; they lied to you. Now you are always looking over your shoulder every time you venture into an eating establishment, wondering if the hungry, hungry HIPAAs are lying in wait for their next deranged attack. Don't believe me? Let's look at the stats: “Companies are finding the workers that they had furloughed last year  are no longer available to rehire,” said Daniel Zhao, senior economist  with Glassdoor. “Then some companies on top of that are actually  experiencing higher demand as the economy reopens, so they need more  workers to actually keep up with that recovery. (Market Watch, 2021)." Oh, but trust me, they will not find them. “Many workers are still sitting out of the labor force because of health  concerns or child care needs, and that makes it tough to find workers  regardless of what you’re doing with wages or benefits,” Zhao said. “An  extra dollar an hour isn’t going to make a cashier with preexisting  conditions feel that it’s safe to return to work. (Market Watch, 2021)”. Uh, oh, no more tacos, no more shakes, no more french fries shoved in your face. If you notice many of the "bonuses" or "wage increases" that are occurring in the food industry are temporary. That means as soon as the pandemic is over, these companies will go back to paying peanuts. Workers are aware of this and so are not biting. So, y'all better hurry up and get used to self-serve because that is most likely your future. You went from having it your way, to having to get up and get it yourself all because you wanted to get cute and try to understand morons. Don't you see? Don't you get it yet? These jobs are not ever coming back. Companies are already investing in automation and hiring far fewer workers to save on production costs. All this crying about people not wanting to work is a cover for a huge economic shift, similar to what happened after the industrial revolution, where many people without college degrees got the ax. They don't really want new employees. So, people are moving on to bigger and better things. They don't want to clean up after your happy meal anymore. And do you know what? Good for them. They deserve better, having worked for you for all these years, than to have to deal with some raging moron looking to make a point about their freedumb. You wouldn't want to work that job. So, why should they?
