In today's episode, Jacob shares part 2 of the highlights from ATA 2025. There were several new products that won ATA awards and several other products that caught Jacob's eye. This includes products from Annihilator Broadheads, Toulou Broadheads, Out On A Limb, Xpedition Bows, Trophy Scan, Rage, Striver Gear and products from several other companies. In addition to these new products, Jacob shares his thoughts on the news bows that have come out from Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, Darton, Elite, Bear, Prime, PSE, and other companies. Are these new bows worth the continual investment? Jacob shares his thoughts on where he would recommend investing dollars when it comes to archery equipment. 

In today's episode, Jacob shares part 1 of the highlights from the ATA. There were 2 companies that rose to the top with new offerings for the mobile hunter, and this episode is primarily focused on those two companies. For Jacob, it was clear that Hunt Arsenal and Tethrd made ATA a priority and chose to launch products at ATA that illustrated their commitment to the saddle hunting product category. For Hunt Arsenal, they introduced 2 new saddles, 2 new platforms, 2 new climbing sticks, and several new packs. For Tethrd, they introduced a frame pack for packing out meat, a unique and versatile hand saw, a new dual panel saddle, and a new bino harness line. Next week, Jacob will dive into other products that made waves at ATA. 

On today's episode, Jacob shares what he is looking forward to at the upcoming Archery Trade Association meeting in Indianapolis this week. Of course, part of the enjoyment of the ATA is seeing new products for 2025 and getting a sense of what hunting companies are prioritizing in this competitive market space. Jacob lists the exhibitors that he has identified as ones that he will visit, and makes note of the brands that aren't present this year. More than anything, Jacob feels it's just great to connect with those in the space that share our passion for the outdoors. 

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2025. On today's episode, Jacob shares his growth goals for 2025. In many ways, the 2024 whitetail season was a solid success with two bucks hitting the ground. But, as the 2025 season approaches, Jacob wants to evolve several aspects of how he hunts and where he hunts in an effort to increase opportunities. This includes arrow set up, saddle set up, public ground expansion, and adding a new state, among other things. 

On today's episode, Jacob shares an update on his season...both on public and private. And the value of spending time in the woods now as one can hunt this year's buck and next year's buck. Deer have been pressured and shot at...and any pockets you find now are going to be worth noting and well worth your time in the field. Also, Jacob continues his look at the climbing stick category. This week it is the "Lightweight" category...those sticks under 20 ounces per stick. Some of these sticks are unique and have innovative features...while some lack value and need an update. Also, Jacob is taking a look at the climbing stick market for mobile hunters and evaluating the numerous options. There are 2 categories of climbing sticks. Those that are over 20 ounces per stick (cruiser weight), and those that are under 20 ounces per stick (light weight). In this episode, Jacob focuses on the climbing sticks that are over 20 ounces per stick. Some of these sticks have unique and innovative features, while other sticks lack value and need an update. In today's episode, Jacob shares his recent public land hunt and how he plans to pivot now that we are in December. While in many ways it feels like the party is over, there is opportunity and Jacob shares how he will approach this next phase of the deer season. 

In today's episode, Jacob goes through some of his top gear with his mobile whitetail setup. Updating and evolving his setup for quiet and efficient movement has been a process for a number of years as more and more options have become available for mobile hunters. This would include his saddle setup, climbing sticks, headlamp, boots, pack, pants, and other miscellaneous gear. Of course, if you are looking to make some upgrades, now is a good time as many outdoor companies are having Black Friday sales or will be having one soon. 

In today's episode, Jacob details how he broke down a piece of out of state public land, and in relatively short order, tagged a mature 11 pointer. As he outlines his hunt, he goes back to last fall when he felt he needed to add another state to his whitetail season. During the summer, Jacob spend time examining maps of public and private, and tried to identify a drainage system that would have several ridges dumping into it, as well as limited access points. He wanted to avoid any pre-season scouting and simply scout in season. As a result of his efforts, he found a piece that was relatively unpressured, found hot sign, and identified a ridge system that held several mature bucks.
