The third time is the charm.

雖然有些人把這句話翻譯成 「國父革命十次失敗，但第十次就成功了。」但是我覺得這個翻譯有失原文的魔幻/奇蹟感。

請各位特別注意，charm 並不是魅力，而是魔力。確切來說，它是一種魔咒（同義字是 spell），請參考這個字典定義：
"[countable] an act or words believed to have magic power" (來源）

Thick (adj) 平時的意思包含：
厚: a thick book
愚蠢: He's not as thick as you think. (他沒有你想像的那麼笨）
