As stock markets around the world fall into the 40-week cycle trough we need to consider the next long trading opportunity. How good an opportunity is it? Should we buy, or should we have sold in May and gone away?

I take a look at the S&P 500, DJIA, NASDAQ, DAX and FTSE100.

Finally a quick update on the EURUSD which has been playing out exactly as expected recently.

I am expecting stock markets to move down into the 40-week cycle trough with a profitable short F-category trade. But if the trough in early May 2015 was a trough of 80-day magnitude then it would be best to wait before going short, because the interaction with the FLD will be B-category.

I also look at the EURUSD which is forming an 80-day cycle trough.

Finally the GBPUSD shows a text-book example of the FLD interaction sequence.

Was the trough that formed on Thursday 7 May 2015 a 40-day cycle trough, or an 80-day cycle trough? I look at the S&P 500, Dow, Nasdaq and Dax and consider the options.

We take a quick look at the EURUSD which is coming down to an 80-day cycle trough, following a good bull run which has increased the chances that the mid-March 2015 trough was the long cycle trough I have been expecting.

And finally Gold has been tricky ... I explain why I am taking a step back, and waiting for an opportunity to come in the next few months.

Having taken a cautious approach to the short D (or B) category interaction which happened on Friday 14 April, I explain why that opportunity has "fizzled out".

Next up would be a long E (or C) interaction, which doesn't look very good to me. But then a big opportunity will present itself with the next short interaction.
