  • Jacob’s Breaking Process: Two Fighting Jealous Wives
This sermon explores the narrative of Leah in Genesis 29, highlighting her experience as an unloved wife in a polygamous marriage where her husband Jacob favored her sister Rachel. The message emphasizes that God sees and cares for those who feel neglected, intervening in Leah's life by opening her womb while Rachel remained barren. It discusses the human tendency to seek validation and love through children or physical intimacy, contrasting this with the spiritual maturity of finding joy and praise in God alone, as seen when Leah named her son Judah. The preacher encourages listeners to recognize that while God may not always change external circumstances, He transforms the inner heart, providing peace and strength through a relationship with Him rather than relying on human affection.

  • Wives: Are You Willing to Be Led?
This sermon addresses the biblical command for wives to submit to their husbands, grounding the instruction in the authority of Christ and the analogy of the church as His body. The message clarifies that submission is a voluntary act of obedience to God rather than a forced dynamic, emphasizing that it is the wife's responsibility to enact this posture for conscience' sake. While acknowledging the cultural discomfort surrounding these terms, the speaker outlines the outer limits of a husband's authority, specifically regarding matters that contradict Scripture, and encourages wives to offer respectful counsel rather than undermining leadership. The central exhortation challenges women to examine their responses to their husbands' initiatives, urging them to be encouragers and counselors who support their spouse's role as head, thereby fostering a marriage that reflects the unity and order established by God.

  • (17) Be Part of a Threefold Cord
To take a hard look at the brokenness of the world, there is no better place to go than Ecclesiastes. The author, probably Solomon, goes through a long checklist of the ways that life can fail to satisfy us. Ultimately, this book serves to advance the grand thesis of Scripture: we were meant to live in union with God and the people he is saving through the blood of the Savior. But Solomon also teaches practical lessons about how to fight against the vanity of this fallen world. In Ecclesiastes 4, Solomon uses the famous illustration of a threefold cord. It is commonly used in wedding as if God is the third cord intertwining the husband and wife. That may be a valid application. But Solomon is driving at a more basic point applicable for all of us, whether single or married: We were made for close, interdependent relationships that can free us from loneliness and unleash our potential for loving and serving others.

  • Zion's Daughters Shamed by Outsiders
Zion's Daughters Shamed by Outsiders What happens when women raised in churches and Christian homes question the old paths, while women without that upbringing begin recognizing the destructive fruits of feminism and seeking a return to marriage, motherhood, and submission to husbands? Ezekiel describes a startling reversal: the daughters of the Philistines were ashamed of Jerusalem's lewd ways! Those blessed with greater light had become a reproach to the God they professed to serve. Through Isaiah, Ezekiel, Titus 2, and Christ's warning to Laodicea, this message examines haughtiness, Christianized feminism, and a form of godliness that stops short of surrender. Are we truly returning to God - or merely fleeing sin's consequences while preserving our rebellious independence? God calls His people to more than outward worship, religious names, or partial reform. He calls us to humble ourselves, examine our foundations by Scripture, and embrace full repentance.

  • The Patriarchs: God Begins Again With One Family | Pastor Jayson Hill
The fourth study in the seven dispensations series turns from the failure at Babel to God's call of Abram in Genesis 12, where the Lord begins again with one man and one family. Abram is called to leave his country, his kindred and the idolatry of his father's house, showing that the believer must be separate from the world to be used of God. From Genesis 18, Psalm 127, Malachi 2 and Ephesians 5 and 6, the message sets out the family as the foundation of a nation and the place where the next generation is taught the way of the Lord. Fathers, mothers, husbands, wives and children are each charged with their duty, in contrast to a culture that undermines marriage, motherhood and the authority of parents. It closes with Joshua 24:15 and a call to decide early to serve the Lord and raise a family for Christ.

  • Knowing Jesus
This study explores the theological depth of Jesus' statement in Matthew 7, clarifying that the Greek word for 'know' implies an intimate, covenantal relationship rather than mere awareness. By examining this concept alongside John 10 and Ephesians 5, the message presents the believer as the bride of Christ, emphasizing that salvation is an inheritance received through a committed union rather than earned through religious works. The speaker draws a parallel between the selfless love of a husband and wife and the agape love of God, illustrating how earthly marriages reflect the divine relationship. This perspective encourages believers to view their daily lives as a living sacrifice and to cultivate a deeper, experiential fellowship with their heavenly bridegroom, allowing God's love to be visibly demonstrated through their conduct and relationships.
