Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to a Nandini store on Sunday intensified the Amul-Nandini row in Karnataka. While the Congress called the milk cooperative the state’s pride, the BJP dismissed the move as a “gimmick”. Hours after his rally in Kolar, Gandhi went to a Nandini milk parlour along with state Congress president DK Shivakumar. Tweeted a picture later, he said: “Karnataka’s Pride – NANDINI is the best!” The BJP quickly shot back, with Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya tweeting: “Glad that Rahul Gandhi thinks Nandini is the best. There is no doubt about it. I request him to intervene in Kerala for smooth sale of Nandini. If not, this will be yet another gimmick.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while participating in the discussion in the House, narrated a story and targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The title of the story was Chauthi Paas Raja. He said that in this story there was only the king and there was no queen. He sarcastically said that after studying till the fourth standard, the boy dropped out and took up a job at a tea stall. Then he also became a king, but he was not educated, so he started feeling troubled that he was less educated, so he took a fake degree.

As many as eleven people were left dead due to heatstroke and over 120 people complained of heat-related health issues at the Maharashtra Bhushan award event in Navi Mumbai's Kharghar on Sunday. "Eleven people have died from heatstroke during Maharashtra Bhushan Award ceremony in Navi Mumbai's Kharghar," Maharashtra CMO said in a statement on late Sunday night.

In a bizarre blame game, almost hilarious to that effect has taken place in Tamil nadu. Last sunday, on the occassion of 50 years of Project Tiger, PM Modi visiter Bandipur Tiger forest reserve. In the two hour jungle safari, PM covered about 20 KM. For the trip, the Prime Minister sported camouflage clothing, with a hat. While, during his safari the PM spotted animals, from elephants, nilgai to deers and monkeys, he couldn't spot any tiger. But now, Madhusudhan, the 29-year-old driver of the vehicle in which the PM travelled, is being blamed, and some BJP leaders and senior forest department officials have demanded that action be taken against him for not choosing a route where tigers could be spotted. However, some forest officials blame PM's high security for this. These officials stood up for Madhusudhan and said “he did his job”. They claimed he “took the route which was finalised” by the PM’s security staff beforehand. The reserve’s director Ramesh Kumar was quoted as saying that “in the name of high security, vehicles repeatedly went on the selected route, hampering the sightings”.

Four years ago, Karnataka faced a political crisis. More than dozen MLAs from the ruling Cong-JDS govt switched sides and declared support to BJP, bringing down the incumbent govt. BJP was accused of engineering the Defection of MLAs and luring them with money. In a major development, Gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad has been killed in an encounter by UP Police. Asad Ahmed was wanted in Umesh Pal murder case. He was killed in UP STF encounter in Jhansi. Not only that, but another person, Mohammed Ghulam was also killed in the encounter by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force. The Team was led by Deputy SP Navendu and Deputy SP Vimal. According to ANI, Police recovered sophisticated foreign-made weapons from both. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal met his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in Delhi today, leading to speculation of a major coming together of opposition parties to take on the BJP in the national election next year. ""Nitish ji has taken a good initiative of gathering all opposition parties under one roof. But while the Modi govt has been slamming George Soros, an Indian Express report says that India is a top contributor of UN Democracy Fund by George Soros, whose mission is to promote democracy across the world through local and international NGOs and civil society organisations (CSOs). Many of these NGOs are already linked with Philanthropic arm of George Soros.
