In Exodus chapter three, God speaks to Moses through a burning bush. It is more accurate to say, that He spoke through a non burning bush. The surprising thing is not that a bush would be found burning in the desert; rather that it wasn’t being consumed. God uses this strange happening to get the attention of Moses. He reveals to Him that He has a plan for His people to be delivered from the bondage of Pharaoh, in Egypt. God instructs Moses to go to Pharaoh and tell him to let His people go free. After arguing with God, Moses asks the question, “Who shall I say sent me?” There is a difference between an escape and deliverance. He answers, “Tell them, I am that I am, sent you.” In other words, God by His nature, is unlimited in every way. He ultimately demonstrated that He would be whatever they needed Him to be. Likewise, whatever you may need Him to be, He will be just that! He is the great I AM.
