This morning we continue our study verse by verse through the gospel of Matthew. Jesus has declared his intentions to fulfill the law rather than abolish it. To that end, he begins demonstrating exactly what that looks like by giving full expression to the law as it has been heard in the past. Although the people have heard the law, Jesus will now explain what it truly means.
