"I Am Sorry" | Psalm 130 & 2 Corinthians 7:10-11

Listen Later

“I am sorry.” Three little words, yet probably some of the most overused—and misused—in the English language.

Think of playing the board game "Sorry!" — when one sibling knocks another back to start, they grin and say, “Sorry!” But what they really mean is, “I’m not sorry at all—and, given the change, I’ll do it again.”

Or think of teaching a three-year-old to say “sorry” after hitting a sibling—as if the phrase were a magic spell that wipes away consequences.

Psalm 130, one of the great penitential psalms, shows us what “I am sorry” truly means—not as an empty phrase, but as a heartfelt cry that leads to forgiveness, freedom, and hope in Jesus.

Discover together how godly sorrow doesn’t trap us in shame, but lifts us into the joy of Christ’s restoration.

The sermon entitled "I Am Sorry" was preached by Pastor Dan Solofra at CrossWalk Church as part of the "From Ruin to Restoration" message series.
